PTH
Dear Point to Hope Supporters:
Nancy was laid to rest Saturday, October 2, 2021, in a private family burial service.
We had tentatively planned for a summer family burial service as the headstone was due to arrive sometime during the winter months. However, it was delivered to the Funeral home unexpectedly the last week of September. With the early arrival, the family agreed we should move the time up to the first Saturday in October before the ground froze.
Our son flew in on Friday evening, was here Saturday, and I drove him to Anchorage for his departing flight on Sunday. Our older daughter and family drove down on Saturday and returned home that same evening. The grandkids chose to stay overnight and traveled with us to Anchorage on Sunday morning. Our younger daughter and our daughter-in-law were not able to be there for the funeral service.
I have had to apologize to some for not making more notification than I did. The family feelings were too close to our heart, and we all felt we needed the space of a private funeral.
Our son and I moved the Decorated Wooden Box (urn) that was sealed with Nancy’s ashes to the gravesite at the Kenai Municipal Cemetery. Carrying the box with Nancy’s ashes out of our home and out to the car was the hardest, most emotionally difficult thing I have ever done. Our son held the box with his mother’s ashes and went through similar emotions as we drove to the cemetery.
We dug the grave and had finished when our older daughter and family arrived. We had our service together and my son and son-in-law filled in and covered the grave, plus reset the ground cover.
We then left and had a time of extended fellowship and memories at our home in Nikiski.
Your brother in Christ,
Henry
Many have asked me what I was going to do with Point to Hope? I have wanted to move forward. However, I am not Nancy, and I am not called to duplicate her mandate from Jesus.
Others have asked me about writing and posting the teachings on the PTH website? I have considered this, but wanted a clear direction from the Lord as I did not want to begin something just because I felt I should. I needed the path of direction from our Lord Jesus, not from me.
So, I have waited as I believe God always moves His Hand at just the right moment. But I have also been praying and listening to the voice of our Lord Holy Spirit.
Since October 2 God’s direction has started to unfold. I will share a small part. The scripture verse He gave me for this next season for Point to Hope is: Heb 10:23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering…NAS, NKJV & ESV. It is time to take our walk in Jesus Christ higher up the mountain of the Lord. He is leading me to begin writing words of direction and encouragement, like a guide leading someone up a mountain path.
At the Lord’s direction I will begin by posting a teaching about every two weeks on the PTH website.
With consideration of the times we are living in, my hope is that the Lord leads me to write posts that will enable each one with resolute determination to “hold fast the confession of their hope in Jesus without wavering.”
The light of His glory that the Lord Jesus has placed within you is to be shining for others to see. And it will shine with increasing intensity when we hold fast to our confession of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.
Your brother in Christ,
Henry

but a hope realized is the tree of life.
